British film director, screenwriter, and producer Robert Crombie first stumbled into the movie business whilst working as a journalist in Russia in the 1990s; and after lucking through his first few TV commercials, he has never looked back.Robert is a co-writer and a producer of the MGM action comedy Soldiers of Fortune, starring Christian Slater, Sean Bean, Ving Rhames, Dominic Monaghan and James Cromwell.Robert is also the writer, director, and a co-producer of the drama Sappho. Sappho holds the box office record for a local movie in its home territory of Ukraine. Though a low-budget movie filmed without star name actors, Sappho has sold to over 50 countries, including USA and UK.Robert is the writer, creative director, and a co-producer of the 2D animation feature The Good Soldier Shweik, based on Jaroslav Hasek's famous anti-war comic novel, The Good Soldier Svejk.Robert is also the director of the Lionsgate-distributed woman in peril thriller Assassin's Run, starring Christian Slater, Cole Hauser, Angus Macfayden and Sofya Skya. The released version of the film has been heavily re-edited by the female lead, the wife of the film's financier.Robert has also directed over 250 TV commercials for some of the world's leading consumer brands.
