Sharon Oliphant was born in St. Louis, Missouri. Her family moved to a farm in Rising Fawn, Ga when she was 8 months old. She is the sixth of nine children. Seven of the children, including Sharon, were born at home. Growing up her mother opened several health food stores to support the family. Her mother home-schooled the children on location of her businesses. Teaching them math on the cash register and reading with herbal and nutrition books. She has attributed the skill set of her and her siblings to her mother for spending so many years teaching them the value of hard-work. Her parents divorced when she was 13. From an early age she expressed an interest in dance and acting. Instead her mother encouraged piano and voice lessons. She is proficient in both and has performed for weddings and coffee shops.She began traveling overseas to work with mission organizations at an early age. At 14 she took her first trip overseas. Treveling to Romania with her eldest brother and a sister, distributing shoes, and teaching VBS in orphanages. She graduated from her studies a year early and began college in Chattanooga, TN, to become a nurse-midwife. In her junior year she was studying Microbiology and all she could think about were auditions going on in the Theatre across campus. She dropped out to pursue acting full time and began taking courses for acting as well as stage combat and stunt work.Sharon first began acting in Community Theatre. She landed her first audition for the show "Oklahoma". She was later cast as a lead in the hit show "Joseph and The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat" as Potiphar's Wife and an added role as the "Sexy Sheep", For which she was nominated for best supporting actress in a musical. She auditioned for her first role in the short film "Dropping Petals" after driving through a snow storm to get to the audition location.Sharon has rapidly progressed from Theatre to Film and Television roles.
