Date Movie
A drama of a different kind we are experiencing here with that story about Julia Jones, who seems unhappy in her life. Julia appears to be overweight and believes she will always be alone because no one has noticed her. One day, Julia meets Grant Fockyerdoder, a handsome young man who loved him and loved her. Before they can get the wedding of their dreams, everyone must meet, parents in order to implement Julia's scheme which looks different.

The targets here are Hollywood's bubbleheaded romantic comedies, but director Aaron Setzer (who co-wrote the script with Jason Friedling) doesn't satirize the genre's familiar tropes so much as merely re-stage familiar scenes.

It's kind of amazing that a joke-a-second comedy like Date Movie doesn't contain a single laugh, but what's there has been so thoroughly focus-grouped and market-tested that no joy escapes the vacuum.
