Lake is delightfully effective as the malicious woman, whose ideas of punishment are often beautifully absurd, and March provides an excellent foil.

It may be not be one of the classic examples of a Hollywood screwball comedy -- might I recommend His Girl Friday to anyone interested? -- but I Married a Witch contains enough modest laughs to satisfy couch potatoes on a chilly fall evening.
