Norma Shearer. a New York socialite, has happy mariage until she discovers that her husband, Ted, had a drunken one night stand with some blowsy woman. She tried to pretend that it was a misunderstanding and forgave him. But his infidelity continues to make her disappointed. What will she do?

It's doubtful that this melodrama, in which Norma Shearer challenges society's double standards about sexual mores by flirting with several men, could have been made after 1934 due to strictures of the Production Code.
