When her boss fears celebrity reporter Cynthia Tamerline has lost her edge, he sends her to tiny Slow Creek, Illinois as punishment to do a human-interest 'fluff' piece on a wishing well. She writes a shoddy article, thinking it's all a joke, but throws in a coin and wishes to be happy, just for the fun of it. Magic happens.
