He attended the Duke of Yorks Royal Military School in Dover, Kent from 1963 to 1970 where he achieved both academic and sporting success. He was academically very gifted and was also a gifted sportsman playing Rugby and a good athlete. He achieved good A level results and went to Bristol University. Hide
