Born in Jamaica, raised in Brooklyn, New York City with her mom, sisters and extended family. Simone came to America through the determination of her mother and grandmother. She speaks 3 languages (English, French and Jamaican Patois). Simone started singing and dancing by age 5. In high school Simone studied Sarah Vaughan and Billie Holiday's complete catalog of songs and wore mens clothes. She would take off to Manhattan to perform in talent shows and modeling events.After enjoying work as a model in New York and Paris, it was her experiences while traveling in Europe that made her decide to veer her career toward acting. The model turned scholar decided to apply to drama schools and was accepted to the UC San Diego Theatre and Dance Program rated one of the top three drama schools in America along with Yale and NYU. There she studied on full scholarship and had the pleasure of working with Des Mc Anuff, Darko Tresnjak, Anne Bogart, Lisa Harrow and Fiona Shaw. Since school, she has continued to study privately. Ms. Moore is the first actress from UCSD to sign with Endeavor Talent Agency right out of school and she started working Off-Broadway at The Classical Theatre of Harlem alongside Ron Simons, Rashad Ernesto Green, TY Jones and J Kyle Manzay.Classically trained, Simone has performed in many stage plays in New York, Los Angeles and regionally, including the prestigious La Jolla Playhouse. She has garnered critical acclaim in The New York and Los Angeles Times for playing Helena (A Midsummer Nights Dream) and Sylvia (Two Gentlemen of Verona) at the Shakespeare Festival Los Angeles and city council woman Tish James Off-Broadway with the Civilians Theatre Company in New York.The statuesque actress is consistently hired to play strong women, with emotional depth, who are beautiful and funny, with high intelligence. Her move to Los Angeles has been very fortunate as she has quickly booked leading roles in independent films, recurring and heavy guest starring television roles. Simone is a soulful singer, stylist, and she paints. She volunteers for various socially conscious organizations such as Youth Entrepreneurship and Sustainability and Serving Artists in Process. Hide
