You start out as an actor taking anything you can get. Any audition, any role, anything. And that's great. You tell other people's stories for a living...well, you help to tell them, as one of the characters. And then you start to realize just how important story is and how there's a message you want to spread or emotions you want to feel and have others feel. There are issues you want to highlight, or maybe, just maybe you want to make people laugh. That may be the only goal with certain scripts. This awful thing happened to me so I'm going to write about it in a way that others can make light of it and realize they're not alone. So others can at least laugh at this misery I'm feeling right now. Cause executed properly, this is so dark and twisted that it's funny! So you start writing and Producing and that's when you really realize the importance of story. Telling good stories. You shift into a place of less desperation and ego. There's still ego. That's human nature. Which is beautiful. To me, it's all psychology. It's all about humans and telling humans stories. There might still be some desperation, but when you're busy writing and Producing your own material, you're not sitting by your phone waiting to get emails from your agent regarding auditions. Hide
