It's a series of dramatic events we're experiencing during the fourth season, when Axe has to intervene when Bill Bill's advice takes a different turn. On the other hand, Chuck faces a threat to his new career aspirations, and Wendy and Axe set up a plan to block Taylor's work in his company, and Taylor receives an important guest who could change things. On the other hand, it seems that Taylor insists on breaking everything in order to achieve success for his company.

Putting his ego over his family is a classic Chuck move, but since none of the maneuvers he executes in "American Champion" had a chance in hell of panning out anyway, the viewer's enjoyment lies in watching Chuck dig himself into a hole.
