The story of the series revolves around Gary Hobson, who was driven out of his home by his wife and moved to a hotel room. Garry wakes up daily at this hotel regularly at a specific hour every morning. On Monday morning, however, Gary awoke to receive a mysterious paper carried by a yellow cat and left at his door. At first Gary did not care about the mysterious paper the cat had left, but after a while he realized that that paper would turn his life completely.

Maybe Early Edition should get a few automatic points for niceness. But it's all a little too creamy-dreamy to have much impact.

It's hard to dislike Early Edition, in part because it makes such good use of its Chicago location, and in part because Chandler was such a perfect lead for this kind of show.

"Groundhog Day" without the humor, it's a good "Twilight Zone" episode. Can it be sustained?
