Andy Bernard has assumed the role of regional manager after Deangelo Vickers' quick flame out at the end of the seventh season. Robert California is newly appointed as CEO of Dunder Mifflin's parent company, Sabre. Much of the early season episodes focus on Andy's attempts to motivate and inspire his new reports.
