The mystery and excitement of Ryan's life takes place in a unique fourth season where Ryan helps his mother adapt to her new life as Wilfried deals with a new enemy. Freid convinces Ryan to hold sensitive information from Jenna. Ryan fears there is a future without Wilfred, More severe. Drew returns from Wisconsin. Ryan finally learns about Wilfred and his life.

[It is] at its best when it walks a tightrope between answering the question [Who is Wilfred?] in multiple different ways, [and] "is Wilfred's nature important..." In the grand scheme of things, not answering those questions is the best move for Wilfred.

Wood and Gann remain an absolute joy to watch as well with their chemistry providing the backbone for the FX series.

While there was a bit of backtracking involved, the events that transpired in "Amends" were nevertheless intriguing, eccentric and at times very dramatic -- true to Wilfred form, at least in recent memory.
